The Showtime host finally receives the icing on the cake after the court convicted Deniece Cornejo, Cedric Lee, and Jed Fernandez for grave coercion. Vhong Navarro filed a case four years ago against the two after being manhandled for allegedly raping Cornejo.
Presiding Judge Bernard Pineda Bernal of the Taguig Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 74 has penned a 60-page decision convicting Cornejo, Lee, and Fernandez “guilty beyond reasonable doubt”. Cornejo’s sister, Berniece, was acquited for “reasonable doubt”. The three are sentenced to six months to three years and six months.
Vhong Navarro is a host from ABS-CBN’s noon-time show, “It’s Showtime”, and was illegally detained by Lee and his compatriots after allegedly catching him on the act of raping Deniece Cornejo in “less than a minute” at her condominium on January 22, 2014.
He was coerced into signing a blotter at the Southern Police District, “falsely admitting” that he raped Cornejo. This caused Navarro to file a grave coercion case, and in return, Cornejo filed a rape case against Navarro.
The rape and attempted case, however, was dismissed by the Department of Justice, stated that the case against Navarro has “lack of probable cause”.
